Pernyataan dukungan Madura menjadi provinsi disampaikan setelah menghadiri pekan ngaji di Pondok pesantren Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata, Kabupaten Pamekasan. Rencana tersebut dinilai baik karena berdasarkan kepentingan masyarakat.
"Saya sangat mendukung dan bagus selama untuk pelayanan masyarakat," ujar Fadli Zon kepada awak media di Pamekasan, Sabtu (19/01/2019).
Madura harus segera mendapatkan pertumbuhan pembangunan dan pemerataan dari sektor ekonomi. Sehingga memang sudah saatnya berjaya, Dan hal itu (pemekaran menjadi provinsi sendiri) patut diperjuangkan.
"Secepatnya target itu akan tercapai. Segera saya perjuangkan dalam waktu dekat ini," jelasnya.
Politisi Gerindra itu berharap masyarakat Madura lebih optimis, karena jika benar-benar menjadi provinsi, akan ada tantangan baru. Dimana perekonomian harus mapan, Sumber Daya Alam (SDA) Dan sumber daya Manusia (SDM) juga harus benar-benar dibenahi.
