Banyak yang mempertanyakan bagaimana karier Ahok setelab bebas. Sebab, beberapa pihak terutama pendukungnya (Ahokers), berharap ia akan melanjutkan kiprahnya di kancah politik.
Begitu juga sahabat Ahok, Ruhut Sitompul, mengaku siap mendukung apa saja yang dicita-citakan pasca-kebebasan, terlebih jika Ahok tetap melebarkan sayapnya di dunia politik.
Menurut Ruhut Sitompul, rakyat masih membutuhkan orang-orang tegas seperti Ahok untuk membangun Indonesia.
"Dia bilang tidak mau masuk dunia politik, dia mau urusin bisnis aja. Dia kebetulan ahli pertambangan, tapi hati kecil saya bilang Indonesia perlu orang kayak Ahok," ujar Ruhut Sitompul saat dikonfirmasi, Kamis (24/1/2018).
Bahkan, Ruhut Sitompul menyebut Ahok tak hanya terkenal di Indonesia, namun juga di luar negeri.
"Saya keluar negeri ketemu orang Indonesia pun mereka selalu tanya Pak Ahok kapan keluarnya, mau jadi apa setelah bebas nanti, semua cinta Ahok. Hebat betul orang itu," ucap Ruhut Sitompul.
Tak hanya itu, Ruhut Sitompul juga mengenang masa kepemimpinan Ahok saat menjabat menjadi Gubernur DKI, yang bisa mengubah Jakarta menjadi megah.
Namun, sejak dipimpin Anies Baswedan, menurutnya Kota Jakarta sudah tak layak menyandang status kota besar, justru lebih tepat dusun, karena tak tertangani dengan baik.
"Sekarang DKI ini kayak gimana kan? Kalau zamannya Ahok Jakarta menjadi kota besar. Kalau sekarang menjadi dusun besar," ucap Ruhut Sitompul. (*)
